This is the "northern black currant", "western black currant" or "Hudson Bay currant.  The
berry turns black when ripe and is bitter.

1.  Early June.  Blossoms.  The plant has just popped through
the gaps in a wooden deck which accounts for the pale color of the leaves.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


2.  Mid-June.  Same plant as in photo 1.
The berries fell off rather than ripening.

white bloom on the berries is typical.
