Ophioparma ventosa is an arctic species known as the "alpine bloodspot".  Ophioparma lapponica,
an almost identical species differing only in the spores is listed by ITIS. In
Lichens of North America (Brodo et al) O. lapponica is only mentioned under O. ventosa
